Starting from Oswald de Andrade's Anthropophagy and other bites, this show explores different soundscapes — and, by extension, the legacy of Brazilian Concretism in Portuguese experimental poetry (PO.EX) — giving primacy to pre-verbal forms of language in order to transform and unsettle the discursive, utilitarian and functional logic of speech. Voices of Jocy de Oliveira, Melo e Castro, Augusto de Campos, Caetano Veloso, Tom Zé, Walter Franco, Arrigo Barnabé, Damião Experiença, Natália de Andrade & Nu No in the mix. Nuno Marques Pinto aka NU NO is a performer with and without theatre, and a radio broadcaster; his work is a reflection on voice and language. He prefers lived poetry to any other form of artistic expression.
