VENENO × 36ª BIENAL DE SÃO PAULO – Segunda Seleção: André Pitol

24 Nov 2025

The Inevitable End Version. I can say I did it all with love, love, love. All with love, love, love.

Veneno continues its partnership with the 36th Bienal de São Paulo, one of the most important art exhibitions in Latin America, held at the Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion under the title “Not All Travellers Walk Roads – On Humanity as Practice”, with general curatorship by Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung and his conceptual team.

Inspired by the poem “Da calma e do silêncio” by Conceição Evaristo, this edition invites us to rethink humanity as a verb — a living practice based on listening, coexistence, and the encounter between different worlds and voices.

In harmony with this idea, Veneno and the Bienal join forces in a series of mixes and sound selections created by the exhibition’s conceptual team, exploring sound as a space for listening, coexistence, and meeting between different voices and worlds.

The second chapter of this collaboration takes place on Monday, November 24th, at 2 PM, with the broadcast of the second set in Veneno’s programming.

Second Selection: by André Pitol

The series continues with a sound selection created by André Pitol, researcher, curator, and professor, who holds a PhD from ECA-USP. He teaches at École Intuit Lab and PUC-SP. He curated Edival Ramosa – New Totemic Construction (moraes-barbosa collection, 2024), was associate curator of The Parable of Progress (Sesc Pompeia, 2022), and co-conceptualized the School of Quilombismo program at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin (2023). He has written essays for e-flux, The Brooklyn Rail, Photographies, Mídia Ninja, and ZUM. He is adjunct co-curator of the 36th Bienal de São Paulo (2025).

About the Selection, by André Pitol

In the middle of the song Notícias do Brasil, Milton Nascimento sings that “here lives a people that is sea and that is river / and whose destiny is to one day come together.” If I could recall the many new experiences and challenges that were shared with me over this year and a half of creating the 36th Bienal de São Paulo, I would say there was no other way for it to have been done—it was fate that brought together such an incredible group of Wanderers. Unforgettable. The Inevitable End Version. A space where Milton can coexist with Robyn, allowing me to end by saying: I can say I did it all with love, love, love. All with love, love, love.
